Maintenance Controller

Job Summary

The Maintenance Controller ensures optimal plant reliability, asset care, and operational efficiency by directing maintenance planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role drives predictive maintenance programs, manages maintenance budgets and CAPEX, builds technical competencies within engineering teams, and enforces rigorous safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Asset Care & Reliability: Develop and implement asset care plans, drive predictive maintenance and condition monitoring, analyze failure modes, and eliminate recurring equipment breakdowns to maximize plant uptime.
• Maintenance Planning & Execution: Oversee the execution and quality of all maintenance activities, verify the availability of necessary spares and tools, and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
• Budget & Cost Management: Control maintenance budgets, manage spares and asset care costs, and develop CAPEX plans.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and manage the maintenance team, set performance goals, conduct coaching and reviews, build technical competencies, and manage external contractors.
• Safety & Compliance (SHEQ): Enforce safety protocols including LOTO, electrical safety, machine safeguarding, risk assessments (HIRA/JSA), and environmental compliance.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong expertise in maintenance and asset management systems, utilities, processing, and packaging systems.
• Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, vendor management, and MES/MIS systems.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills with an execution-driven mindset.
