Job Summary

The Electrician operates under the direct supervision of the Electrical Section Coordinator and is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic infrastructure, systems, and appliances. Beyond standard power distribution and wiring, this role features a strong focus on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electronic components and control boards. Responsibilities cover lighting fixtures, power distribution boards, sound systems, stage/drama lighting, kitchen appliances, and specialized electrical equipment across campus facilities and residential properties.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Electronic Component & Circuit Repair

• Troubleshoot, test, and repair electronic equipment down to the component level, including diagnostic testing and repair of electronic circuit boards, control modules, and sensitive micro-electronics.
• Analyze and interpret complex electronic schematics and circuit diagrams to isolate faults, replace damaged chips or resistors, and restore damaged electronic boards.

Electrical Installation & Power Infrastructure

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, distribution boards, circuit protection devices, and fixtures in strict compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
• Pull, route, and terminate electrical wires and cables for new and existing infrastructure.
• Install, replace, and maintain specialized lighting systems, including classroom lighting, perimeter fence security lights, playground illumination, and advanced stage/drama lighting setups.
• Fabricate and install custom extension cords and temporary power setups for campus and residential use.
• Install, configure, and maintain electrical kitchen appliances, commercial water heaters, water pumps, and pump control switches.

Diagnostics, Maintenance, & Operations

• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, appliances, and electronic components using specialized testing equipment (such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal imagers) and hand tools.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on residential generators, classroom air conditioning units, and critical power systems.
• Service, troubleshoot, and perform operational repairs on emergency generators.
• Read and follow architectural blueprints and technical drawings to determine precise wiring layouts and ensure adherence to building codes.
• Perform all other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
