Technical Manager (Medical Device & Pharma)

Role Summary

YSPanacea Trading is looking for an experienced and highly self-driven Technical Manager (Medical Device & Pharma) to lead technical and operational activities related to its medical import operations.

The role will serve as a key point of contact for regulatory compliance, employee management, technical operations, and market intelligence, requiring both strategic business understanding and hands-on operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the central operational leader and first escalation point for internal company affairs.
• Liaise directly with the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) to secure required import permits and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Manage licensed storage facilities and oversee technical after-sales operations and product performance.
• Direct the safe shipping, clearing, and warehousing of medicines, reagents, and medical devices.
• Ensure full compliance with EFDA regulations and applicable quality systems.
• Lead, direct, and evaluate staff to maintain high-performance operational output.
• Monitor market demands and provide recommendations to executive leadership on high-demand and commercially viable medical imports.
• Support the development and maintenance of operational standards within the medical import business.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Pharmacy or Biomedical Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience working at a medical import company.
• Proven leadership experience within EFDA-regulated healthcare or medical import environments.
• Strong knowledge of medical import operations, regulatory requirements, and compliance processes.
• Demonstrated strategic business acumen combined with hands-on operational leadership.
• Strong understanding of medical products, market demands, and commercial opportunities.
• Fully self-directed and capable of driving operational standards and commercial growth independently.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Important: This is a senior operational leadership role suited to a professional with direct experience in a medical import environment, strong knowledge of EFDA-regulated operations, and the ability to independently lead both technical and operational activities.
