Senior Import Accountant

Role Summary

YSPanacea Trading is looking for an experienced and highly self-driven Senior Import Accountant to lead financial and tax management related to import transactions while ensuring strict compliance with Ministry of Revenues (MoR) requirements.

The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, solid knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations, and the ability to independently manage import-related financial activities with minimal operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting, tax filings, customs duty reconciliation, financial audits, and financial reporting independently.
• Ensure full compliance with current Ministry of Revenues (MoR) rules, regulations, and tax codes.
• Manage foreign exchange-related financial processes and documentation.
• Handle bank L/C documentation and related financial requirements.
• Manage single-window financial documentation for import transactions.
• Prepare and manage cost-of-goods calculations related to imported products.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial records and documentation for import activities.
• Identify and address financial and tax compliance issues proactively.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of dedicated accounting experience, specifically within the commercial import sector.
• Strong and practical knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and Ministry of Revenues regulations.
• Strong knowledge of import-export accounting practices and financial processes.
• Practical experience with customs duties, L/Cs, foreign exchange processes, and import-related financial documentation.
• Strong technical accounting and financial management capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal to no operational oversight.
• Strong problem-solving and compliance-oriented mindset.

Important: This role is suited to an experienced accountant with direct commercial import-sector experience and strong practical knowledge of Ethiopian tax, customs, and import-related financial processes. Candidates should be capable of independently managing the role's financial responsibilities with minimal supervision.
