Light Vehicle Driver

Job Summary

The Light Vehicle Driver ensures the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of staff, volunteers, guests, and light cargo to support ERCS's operational activities. Operating under the Fleet Management Division Manager, the role requires strict adherence to traffic regulations, meticulous vehicle maintenance and inspection logs, and professional conduct in alignment with humanitarian standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Transport staff, volunteers, and guests to various ERCS operational locations, and deliver packages or light loads as instructed.
• Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct routine pre- and post-trip checks (oil, fuel, water, tires, brakes), maintain vehicles in good running order, perform minor breakdown repairs, and replace flat tires or accessories.
• Log Documentation: Keep precise records of departures, arrivals, mileage covered, fuel consumption, and other pertinent data in accordance with internal control policies.
• Cleaning & Upkeep: Ensure vehicles are regularly washed, dusted, lubricated, inspected, and serviced annually or as required.
• Regulatory Compliance: Comply strictly with national traffic regulations, maintain a valid driving license, and report major malfunctions or defects immediately to superiors.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: TVET Level II completed or 10th-grade completion.
• License & Experience: Must possess a valid 3rd Grade Driving License (or equivalent) accompanied by 4 to 6 years of relevant professional driving experience.

• Excellent knowledge of local traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and vehicle mechanics.
• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and professional customer service orientation.
