Junior QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) Officer

Job Summary

The Junior QHSE Officer supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company\'s QHSE Management System, ensuring compliance with company policies, Ethiopian regulations, and industry best practices while managing safety audits, vendor HSE compliance, and incident claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspections & Risk Management: Conduct workplace inspections, identify hazards, develop and review risk assessments for routine and non-routine activities, and ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Policy & Incident Management: Support the implementation of QHSE policies, investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and non-conformities, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Training & Awareness: Coordinate safety inductions, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, emergency drills, and provide safety training to staff, drivers, and warehouse personnel.
• Audits & Documentation: Maintain QHSE records, statistics, documentation, and accident/claims registers while supporting internal/external audits, customer inspections, and certification activities.
• Vendor & Insurance Compliance: Monitor transport vendors\' HSE compliance, liaise with insurance brokers on policy renewals and claims processing, and prepare weekly/monthly QHSE reports.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: BSc Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 0 years of experience (Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; internship experience is an advantage).

Required Skills & Competencies

• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of ISO standards relevant to health, safety, and environment; knowledge of risk assessment and incident investigation techniques; good training and facilitation skills; proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Behavioral Competencies: Strong attention to detail, organizational, reporting, and problem-solving abilities, high integrity, and professionalism.
