Junior Internal Auditor

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in performing  risk-based internal audits  as per  NBE Directive No. MFI/32/2023  on Internal Audit Functions.

Evaluate compliance with  NBE’s Prudential Regulations ,  AML/CFT Proclamations , and  Corporate Governance Guidelines .

Conduct audit tests on financial transactions, loan approvals, and treasury operations to ensure adherence to policies.

Identify  fraud risks ,  internal control weaknesses , and  non-compliance issues , reporting them with recommendations.

Assist in preparing  quarterly audit reports  for submission to  NBE  and the Board Audit Committee.

Support in  investigating fraud  and  irregularities  as per  NBE’s Fraud Prevention & Control Guidelines .

Follow up on the implementation of  corrective actions  from previous audit findings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in  Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration .

Experience:  1-2 years in  auditing (preferably in MFIs or banks) .

NBE-Specific Knowledge:

Understanding of  NBE Microfinance Directives ,  IFRS , and  AML/CFT laws .

Familiarity with  risk-based audit methodologies .

Skills:

Strong analytical and documentation skills.

Proficiency in  audit software  (e.g., Team Mate, ACL).

Report writing and communication skills in  English & Amharic .
