Industrial Engineer

Job Summary

Responsible for improving productivity, efficiency, and quality within the garment production process by analyzing work methods, developing standardized procedures, optimizing manpower and machine utilization, and ensuring cost-effective production.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning and Efficiency Improvement: Study and analyze garment production processes for time, motion, and workflow efficiency; develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); prepare operation breakdowns (OB), method studies, and layout plans; calculate and set Standard Minute Values (SMVs); ensure line balancing and eliminate bottlenecks.
• Work Study and Method Improvement: Conduct time and motion studies; propose work aids, attachments, and workstation layouts; evaluate methods for cost savings; train operators and supervisors on improved work methods.
• Capacity and Line Management: Plan and allocate machine and manpower resources; analyze line performance and provide regular efficiency reports; support style changeovers to minimize downtime.
• Quality and Process Optimization: Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team for process control; analyze defects and rework data; implement lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping); support compliance with audit standards (ISO, WRAP, BSCI).
• Cost and Performance Analysis: Analyze labor, machine, and material utilization; calculate and monitor cost per minute (CPM) and efficiency variance; participate in pricing discussions.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Garment Engineering, Textile Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in a garment or apparel manufacturing environment.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes (knits, woven, etc.), Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and IE tools (GSD, Sew Easy, Pro-SMV), along with familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.
