Finance Head

The Finance Head oversees the organization's entire financial reporting and accounting operations. The role ensures strict compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards and Ethiopian tax laws, manages month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinates external audits, assists with budgeting and forecasting, and provides leadership and mentorship to the junior accounting team.

• Manage end-to-end month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
• Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure all accounting records comply with GAAP/IFRS standards and Ethiopian tax regulations.
• Prepare accurate financial reports and maintain complete, audit-ready accounting documentation.
• Coordinate with external auditors and supply all requested supporting schedules and documents.
• Monitor internal financial controls and recommend continuous process improvements.
• Supervise, train, mentor, and review the work of junior accounting staff.
• Assist executive management with budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting.

• Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree (BA/BSc) in Accounting or Finance (Professional certifications such as ACCA or CPA are an added advantage).
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional accounting experience (Prior experience in a hospital, manufacturing company, or large private organization is preferred).

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Hands-on experience with computerized accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, ERP systems).
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, GAAP/IFRS, and Ethiopian tax laws.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
