Clinical Psychologist / Counsellor

Job Summary

The Clinical Psychologist / Counsellor provides confidential psychological and psychosocial support to over 14,000 employees at Sher Ethiopia's massive horticultural enterprise as well as students at Sher School. Operating in Ziway, the role is vital for employee wellbeing, student guidance, trauma-informed crisis management, and assisting the Gender and Compliance teams with safeguarding, grievance handling, and sexual harassment cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Individual Counselling: Provide confidential psychological and emotional counselling to workers dealing with personal, professional, or work-related challenges.
• Student Support: Offer specialized counselling and psychosocial guidance to Sher School students, with a particular focus on adolescents.
• Safeguarding & Case Handling: Deliver psychological first aid and trauma-informed support to victims or survivors of sexual harassment, gender-based violence, or trauma.
• Gender & Grievance Support: Collaborate with the Gender Committee and Compliance Team to support employees raising sensitive grievances through risk assessments and referrals.
• Mental Health Advocacy: Conduct community and workplace awareness sessions on mental health, stress management, resilience, and respectful workplace relationships.
• Assessment & Referral: Perform psychological evaluations, identify high-risk cases, and coordinate specialized external referrals when necessary.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in counselling, psychological services, or psychosocial support.
