Biomedical Engineer

Job Summary

The Biomedical Engineer installs, calibrates, maintains, and repairs advanced medical machinery, diagnostic equipment, and healthcare technology. Operating across Yanet hospital facilities in Hawassa, the role ensures the safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance of all clinical devices while training medical personnel on their correct usage.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Installation & Calibration: Install, test, and calibrate biomedical machines, diagnostic equipment, and healthcare software to ensure optimal functionality.
• Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment promptly to minimize clinical downtime and ensure patient safety.
• Safety Evaluation & Documentation: Evaluate equipment efficiency, maintain up-to-date service histories, and author technical protocols, maintenance logs, and safety reports.
• Clinical Training & Support: Provide technical guidance and train physicians, nurses, and clinicians on the safe and effective operation of medical devices.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized university.
• License & Experience: Must possess a valid professional license from a regulatory body, backed by a minimum of 1 year of proven work experience in a healthcare facility setup.
