The Assistant Finance Staff (Contract Basis) will support the day-to-day finance and accounting operations at the Head Office. Reporting to the Finance Manager/Accountant, the position is responsible for maintaining financial records, processing payments and vouchers, tracking receivables/payables, performing bank reconciliations, assisting with payroll and budget tracking, and ensuring total compliance with internal financial guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Transaction Processing & Record Keeping
Record, verify, and maintain accurate daily financial transactions, accounting ledgers, and voucher systems.
Prepare and process payment requests, commercial invoices, official receipts, and payment vouchers with complete supporting documentation.
Monitor employee cash advances, operational settlements, and clear outstanding balances systematically.
2. Cash Management, Reconciliation & Financial Reporting
Perform routine cash and bank account reconciliations and track daily cash flows.
Assist in compiling monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance summaries.
Monitor project budget allocations, track expenditure against line items, and manage accounts payable/receivable ledgers.
3. Payroll, Audit & Compliance Support
Assist with payroll computation, statutory deduction records (taxes, pensions), and disbursement logs.
Support the Finance Manager during internal/external audit preparations by retrieving, organizing, and verifying audit-trail documentation.
Ensure strict adherence to accounting standards, data confidentiality, and corporate financial procedures.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, or book-keeping roles.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial records management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Software Applications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word); hands-on experience with accounting/ERP software (e.g., Peachtree, QuickBooks) is an added advantage.
Core Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective decision-making skills, and clear professional communication.
